Field Day/Inflatable Day

The day after Ryan's field trip was Field Day/Inflatable Day. I help run a game called Cross the River. We put two jump ropes on the ground and pretend there is a river between them. The kids have to jump over the two ropes without landing inbetween them. If they land in the "river" they are out of the game. We keep moving the jump ropes farther apart so we could see who could jump the farthest. The kids got to play lots of differnet things that day. They had inflatables inside the gym but I wasn't able to get any pictures because I had to stay outside at my station. Ryan was really excited about Tug-o-War but he almost missed it because he got separated from his class and went back to his class room by himself. Luckily I finished my station and went to look for him at tug-o-war and noticed he wasn't there. I asked his teacher where he was and she hadn't noticed that he was gone so I went to look for him and found him lying on the floor in his classroom waiting for his class to come back. He didn't know where they were. We hurried outside and he got to do the last couple of games of tug-o-war.

Ryan's Field Trip to the Zoo

Ryan's class went on a field trip to the zoo this year. I got to go with them and was in charge of a group of six boys. They were pretty good. The whole class wore yellow so we could keep track of them. We had a lot of fun. Ryan's favorite animal was the Golden Eagle, mine was the Lions.

As part of the 100th day of school, all the kids in Ryan's class had to make a poster of 100 things. I thought it had to be turned in the next day so we used what we had in the house. We did 100 toothpicks in the shape of 100 and had Ryan paint the inside. We had family home evening that night with Chris's family so we were up late finishing this. It was the first school project we have had to stay up late finishing. I'm sure it won't be our last.

Ryan's Wall

Finally! I finally finished Ryan's superhero mural. I think we started it in June of 2009 and I just finished it last weekend. He really likes it. Originally I was going to paint the superheros on but I found these reusable wall stickers called Wall Mates. I figured since they are reusable he could change some of the scenes sometimes. I ordered a Superman pack and a Batman pack and each one came with 30 stickers so we used some on the mural and then he got to go crazy with the rest around his room. I ordered some of the Batman bedding from Pottery Barn Kids but the sham and pillowcase are on back order until April 17 and the duvet cover until June 17. I haven't told him about those yet. I figured since they were going to take so long to get here I'd let them be surprises so he wasn't asking me about them all the time. I didn't order the sheets because he loves his flannel sheets. I want some that are a solid yellow or blue or I guess even black. If anyone knows where I can get some please let me know.

A couple of months ago Ryan and I went to a Curious George night at the library. He got to have his picture taken with Curious George,he got a free book, a free banana and some coloring pages. Ryan really enjoyed it.
